An Introduction to In-Ground Burials

In-ground burial is the most common and familiar type of cemetery interment.  Located within Historic Llano Cemetery’s 200 acres are several different types of in-ground burial gardens, lots and spaces designed to meet the desires, traditions and budgets of all families.

Monument Lots have been developed to accommodate an upright monument of natural granite or marble, which is placed upon the gravesite. Monument Lots allow a family to create a uniquely beautiful upright memorial that can be custom-designed to reflect the life of their loved ones.

Grass Flush Lots are designed to create gardens that have a uniform, park-type setting. Natural granite, marble or bronze memorials are placed flush with the ground to produce areas that provide a natural and open appearance.

Llano Cemetery has always placed special importance upon providing distinctive gardens that are specifically designed to honor the men and women who served in our country’s armed forces.  Spaces in the Field of Valor are provided to our country’s veterans at a reduced cost and are available for spouses and other family members, as well.

Llano Cemetery pays tribute to the men and women who have served as public servants (law enforcement and fire-fighters) throughout the Panhandle of Texas by offering a unique garden designed especially to honor their service.  Spaces in the Field of Honor are provided to current or retired public servants at a reduced cost and are available for spouses and other family members, as well.

An Introduction to Mausoleums

Once an interment choice reserved only for the wealthy and famous, today the advantages of above ground entombment are well within the reach of all families. Mausoleum entombment is clean, dry and ventilated. It compares favorably with the cost of in-ground burial by eliminating lots, vaults, monuments or memorials.

Mausoleums have been used for thousands of years. Among the oldest and largest mausoleums are the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.

Perhaps the most ornate and visited mausoleum in the world is the Taj Mahal in Agra, India.

The Tomb of The Unknown Soldier is one of our Nation’s most hallowed and revered monuments; a mausoleum inscribed with the words, “Here Rests In Honored Glory An American Soldier Known But To God”.

Private Mausoleums are the preferred choice of families who want the finest in above ground entombment. It is an architectural tribute to a family’s legacy and heritage, created by the finest artisans in the world. Private Family Mausoleums are constructed upon the most exclusive and desirable property within Llano Cemetery and provide the highest level of quality, security and prestige.

Private Companion Mausoleums offer many of the desired features of Private Family Mausoleums at significantly less cost. Families can custom design these granite mausoleums to reflect the lives and interests of their loved ones. Exclusive locations are available at Llano Cemetery for the placement of these beautiful and unique memorial tributes.

An Introduction to Cremation Spaces

Many families today are choosing cremation services as an alternative to traditional burial. However, it’s important to remember that the permanent placement and memorialization of your loved-one’s cremated remains is essential in creating a lasting memorial and tribute to their life. It serves as a place for future generations to come and remember and honor; a place to say hello and a place to say goodbye.

The Cloisters are limited-edition private cremation estates that are placed in an exclusive, gated courtyard located within Llano Cemetery’s Historic Pantheon Mausoleum. These beautiful granite columbaria have been designed for families who desire the utmost in privacy, security and prestige.

Llano Cemetery’s glass front niches are located inside the Historic Pantheon Mausoleum, providing a secure and climate-controlled visitation area. Along with the urn, other personal mementos may be added to the niche such as photographs and items that represent your loved-one’s interests and hobbies.

Cremation Benches offer a beautiful way to permanently memorialize your family.  As many as four loved-ones may be placed within the granite bench.  Cremation Benches can be set in many beautiful and serene locations throughout Llano Cemetery, creating property that represents a true Family Estate.

Many families wish to place cremated remains in a natural setting that blends with our landscape. Natural Boulder Estates provide the perfect way to memorialize your loved one by using native Texas Moss Rock that can hold up to six bronze urns. These boulders are located around Llano Cemetery’s Wildlife Pond and may also be placed in other areas throughout Llano.

Cremation niches are available in Llano Cemetery’s Garden Columbarium.  These natural granite niches provide a beautiful permanent memorialization that is very affordable.

Families often choose to combine cremation with traditional ground burial.  This may occur when a family already owns Llano Cemetery property or desires to have cremated remains placed near loved ones already buried here.  A natural bronze, granite or marble memorial, along with a vase may be placed to permanently memorialize your loved one.
