An Introduction to Mausoleums
Once an interment choice reserved only for the wealthy and famous, today the advantages of above ground entombment are well within the reach of all families. Mausoleum entombment is clean, dry and ventilated. It compares favorably with the cost of in-ground burial by eliminating lots, vaults, monuments or memorials.
Mausoleums have been used for thousands of years. Among the oldest and largest mausoleums are the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.
Perhaps the most ornate and visited mausoleum in the world is the Taj Mahal in Agra, India.
The Tomb of The Unknown Soldier is one of our Nation’s most hallowed and revered monuments; a mausoleum inscribed with the words, “Here Rests In Honored Glory An American Soldier Known But To God”.
